Seiji Ozawa Music Academy 2023 Program Announced!

The Seiji Ozawa Music Academy has announced its program for 2023 spring.
The program for the 19th Opera Project will be La Bohème by Giacomo Puccini, a great composer who is the pride of Italy. This masterpiece is set in Paris, a popular Bohemian destination, and tells the story of young men and women who live in poverty but hold on to their loves and dreams. The Music Academy will present this opera for the second time, the first being in 2004.
The director will be David Kneuss, with set and costume designs by Robert Perdziola in a new production. Both having trained under the grand master Franco Zeffirelli, the duo has spawned many works together. The audience will enjoy the direction that is true to the work and showcases the music and singers, and immerse themselves in the realistic and beautiful art. Robert Perdziola is also recognized as a global ballet costume designer and has worked in recent years with the Bolshoi Ballet, American Ballet Theatre, and Finnish National Ballet.
We will present this popular work that is the most-performed of Italian operas along with Mo. Diego Matheuz and singers who are engaged by opera houses around the world and an orchestra of young musicians chosen by audition from countries in Asia, in a new production of high caliber.
